What does the diving baptism consist of?

The diving baptism is an activity designed for those who have never dived before and want to have their first dive in Tenerife. It starts with a short theory class in which you will learn the basics about diving equipment, how to breathe underwater and the communication signals used on the seabed. After the theory, you will dive in calm and shallow waters, under the supervision of an instructor who will be with you at all times, ensuring that you enjoy your first underwater experience in complete safety.

With this diving baptism, you will have the opportunity to explore the crystal clear waters and rock formations of the coast, enjoying the incredible marine biodiversity that Tenerife has to offer. The duration of the activity is from 1 to 2 hours, depending on your comfort underwater.

What is included in the diving baptism?

This diving baptism in Tenerife includes everything you need to enjoy the activity without worries. First of all, you will be provided with the complete equipment, including wetsuit, mask, fins and air bottle. In addition, you will receive a theoretical class to familiarize you with the equipment and the basic rules of diving.

During the dive, you will be accompanied by an experienced instructor, and at the end, you will receive a diploma of attendance that will certify your participation. To make this experience an unforgettable memory, we also include a photographic report with between 4 and 10 photos, both on the surface and underwater. And, of course, you will be covered by a liability insurance during the whole activity.

Requirements for your first dive

  • Open to those over 8 years of age, although those under 18 years of age will need an authorization signed by a legal guardian.
  • It is essential to be in good physical and mental condition, so you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire before the dive.
  • It is recommended not to fly or engage in activities involving sudden changes in altitude (such as climbing Mount Teide) during the 12-24 hours following the baptism dive, as this may affect decompression after the dive.
  • Activity subject to weather conditions.
