General Conditions, Dives and Diving Courses

Medical statement
According to the current BOE, in Spain it is not mandatory to have a medical certificate, as long as you honestly fill out a medical self-questionnaire with a favorable result.

If you answer NO to the 10 questions on the first page of the questionnaire, a medical evaluation is not required. If you answered YES to the asterisked questions, or to any of the questions on page 2, a physician’s evaluation will be required in order to perform the dive. In this case it will be necessary to obtain a certificate and a doctor’s approval before diving.

That is why, when booking the activity, the client declares to be in an adequate state of health, suitable for diving, either by means of a medical self-declaration or by means of a doctor’s certificate. Therefore, no cancellations for medical reasons will be accepted outside the period established in the cancellation policy.

Certification and Insurance
As a certified diver in Spain, you must be able to show your certification. We cannot take anyone into the water who cannot show their valid international diving certification. As a PADI 5 Star Dive Center, we can search online for any PADI student diver. Divers from other agencies must bring their certification card or show a valid email address.
It is also mandatory that all certified divers of all levels have their own personal dive insurance, you cannot dive without insurance. If you already have dive insurance, bring it with you, as we will need to verify the policy number and expiration date. If your general travel insurance includes scuba diving, we also need the policy number and proof that the insurance covers diving accidents.
If you do not have any insurance, no problem. We can hire it in our dive center the day of the activity in 5 minutes. You can even do it online here on our website.

Broken or missing material
If you rent scuba, snorkel or any other type of equipment from the dive center or if you enroll in a course where we lend you such equipment, you are fully responsible for the equipment while you are using it. Broken or lost equipment must be replaced or paid for. The dive center reserves the right to analyze the damage and determine the amount to be paid for repair or replacement.

Duration of diving courses
The duration we advertise in the courses are minimum/standard durations. In most cases diving courses are completed within this time period, however, students must meet the requirements for certification.
There is no entitlement to certification after the minimum/standard duration of the course. The student obtains the certification once he/she fulfills all the requirements that PADI establishes for this course.

Cancellation Policy

SquatinaSub will only make exchanges or refunds in the following cases:

DIVING COURSES:

  • With 7 days prior to the activity, a 100% refund of the reservation or a change of date of the activity will be possible.
  • With less than 7 days and more than 3 days before the start of the activity, a 50% refund or a single change of date of the contracted activity will be possible. If you choose to change the date, you will no longer be eligible for a 50% refund if you wish to cancel again.
  • Up to 3 days before the activity, no refund or change of date will be possible.

OTHER SERVICES:

  • Up to 7 days prior to the activity, a 100% refund of the reservation or a change of date of the activity is possible.
  • With less than 4 days and more than 2 days before the start of the activity, a 50% refund or a single change of date is possible. If you choose to change the date, you will no longer be eligible for a 50% refund if you wish to cancel again.
  • No refunds or date changes will be possible until 2 days before the activity.
